USS Honolulu (CL-48)

 I am Christopher Adam Geiser. My Grandfather on my dad's side had a cousin named Victor Rohr. He was a Radio Man Second Class in the US Navy during the four years of World War 2 on board the USS Honolulu (CL-48)  There were many different battles during world war 2 after pearl harbor in which the USS Honolulu was involved.

Below is a section of his obituary:

"Victor Rohr was born in Blufton, MN to John and Theresa (Geiser) Rohr. He married Lucille Worden on Oct. 22, 1946, in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Wadena, MN. He was in the U.S. Navy for four years during World War II, aboard the USS Honolulu.

After leaving the Navy, Vic attended telegrapher school in Minneapolis and then worked for the Great Northern Railroad, later known as Burlington Northern Railroad. He retired in 1986 after 40 years.

Vic Rorh was a member of Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 in Melrose and was its quartermaster for 15 years. He also was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Melrose American Legion."
